Das primäre Ziel von EFRAG ist es, die Europäische Kommission bei dem Prozess der Übernahme der von dem International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) entwickelten International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) zu unterstützen.
Die Europäische Privatgesellschaft in Gestalt einer SPE (lateinisch Societas Privata Europaea) ist die geplante Rechtsform einer europäischen Kapitalgesellschaft für kleine und mittlere Unternehmen (KMU).
Die Europäische Wertpapier- und Marktaufsichtsbehörde ESMA (European Securities and Markets Authority) ist eine Behörde zur Regulierung des Handels mit Wertpapieren innerhalb der Europäischen Union. Sie ist Teil des Europäischen Finanzaufsichtssystems ESFS (European System of Financial Supervision).
